HTP-Hasse toh Phasee
I myself nonchalant viewer to Hindi movies.May be Hindi movie style or somebody raised in the south India way making of movies that made me always stayed away from Hindi movies. I never developed natural liking for newly released for Hindi cinema. I started watching hindi movies seriously during my stay in Maharashtra where I was fully surrounded by UP and Bihari friends. North india most diverse and complex world by itself. A single formula of film making cannot appease whole North belt ,still it has to appease major segment of people.Being Tamlian I always complain to my north friends that Hindi movies are bit like lager beer and poor editing .I always appreciate Telugus are best in editing ,Mallus and Tamils know how to take screen without affecting commercial elements. As a person I liked to Mallu movies ,who are ahead of rest of India.
last years Hindi movies that I am watching were bit different and,Hindi cinema is making big strides in low budget segment. Movie likes Gangs of wassepur, Udan,Lunch box and etc ,so many better movies which are highly contemporary to south Indian style.
Hasse toh Phasse is a one such movie which I watched last night is worth to write review of it.Movie revolves around two character Parineeti chopra and Sidharth Malhotra. Love story of two contrasting characters in aptitude and attitude. First time I ever seen female lead shown as real IIT brainy and Male is lead is more inept in doing things. its a real respect to femininity in the Indian cinema. Way the Parineeti chopra character written is simply awesome. In three words Crazy,Bubbly and Brainy . She can do anything what she wants to do ,still with act of genius in it. and her feminine side well emotionally captured .Parineeti chopra ,I would say she was meant to do this role. I don't see any Bollywood heroines of early 2000s or today can do this role. As a actress she had great work done in this movie. She is the real soul of movie and whole movie is around her.She carried the whole burden of movie and remarkably executed her work. Parineeti ,We never excavated new talents in the era where only models dominated.Women of any bio stats is available ,but none hardly act or emote. Parineeti Chopra is bit plus size woman and girls next door appearance who could act.Her composure levels are very high with less movie experiences.This may not be her best role, her best may yet come.Her role as Meeta will set example for way woman will be shown as female lead in the future.Worth to mention that she have exponential progress in the every movie she acts.
Other end Sidharth Malhotra who acted really well as dumb businessman and with full of emotions.He acted brilliant situation caught between his father and Ada sharma as poor loving businessman.Last scene was his teal test of acting skills ,and he did really very well.
No Desi heroism or Body stripping of 6 abs for his role. His role is typical Indian male who is average and want to achieve at any cost. Nothing to mention about Ada Sharma role as Meeta's sister.
Director must be given enough credits for script and choosing right start cast. Vikramaditya Motwane did really good job in this movie. No where script is boring or any character is cumbersome to watch.This movie isn't laugh riot .Comical drama cleverly written with wit and emotions. In the time where Slapstick and Vulgarity dominates,HTP shows good comedy movie can be made with laugh,humor and emotions.
Overal HTP ,you will never get Phasse . You keep laughing!!
